The Outsiders

The Outsiders is another book I read for the summer reading list. I read it in 2 days. It was really, really, really, good. I had my friend Kaitlyn over at my house and she picked up my book and didn’t put it down until she had to go.

The Outsiders is about the life of Ponyboy, a 14 year old member of a Greaser gang. They fight the Socs. The book has al lot of character development. The Greasers are hoods. Ponyboy and his other gang members really bond in the book.

Its hard to explain how good this book is, so you really should read it. Well, that depends. People who like fighting and hoody books should read it. People who like romance and cliqueish books shouldn’t. You dig? Comment and tell me.

Niche: Star Wars

YAY! I have a Niche. I love star wars. I will still be writing about what’s going on with me but I will mainly be talking about star wars.

I will talk about Star wars videos, game sites, web sites, books, movies, characters, etc. This is a great sight for any star wars fan.

A niche is when you have a topic that you mainly talk about.

My favorite character is C-3PO, but the one most like me is Han Solo. Not because he is self centered but because he is self dependant.

Please comment with your favorite character and the one most like you.

Sea Weed, YUM

Friday, July 25th, 2008

I feel as hungry as a elephant, because my mom says that they eat everything in there path, but the don’t eat seaweed, and I’m eating seaweed so I’m obviously not an elephant, but did you know that despite the elephants size they actually need to eat allot, but I’m not as  hungry as the people living on the streets or the elephants, I just wanted to know what seaweed tasted like and I will warn you to never eat seaweed from a beach in New York city because it doesn’t taste like it does in Japanese restaurants, in fact they are very very disgusting, so I hope you have enough sense to not eat seaweed at Coney island, and to not pretend that you are as hungry as an elephant, and not to write run on sentences, I also feel that you should feel that I feel like a seal because they eat seaweed.

Yesterday I went to a tea tasting class in Hudson. We mixed our own tea, made tea sandwiches and other little snacks to go with the tea, labled our teas, made story’s about our tea, and made a bag to “ship” our tea in.

It was really fun. My teas name was, The Old Gold Mines Tea.

My story was that some men were working on building a houses in California. Two workers were on a lunch break and were walking around checking out the land behind the house. One was carrying a portable water boiler to make coffee but he left the coffee by the house. All of a sudden The ground beneath the two worker broke away and the fell. None of the other workers even noticed. They fell into an old forgotten gold mine from when people were first settling California. They were trapped inside. The two men walked around a bit exploring. They finally got thirsty and pulled some herbs that were twined in with the rocks. They put it in the portable water boiler. It tasted delish! They never got out of the mine but a little bird swooped down and picked up he herb mixture. He dropped it into one of the other workers hand along with the recipe. No one knows who wrote the recipe or how we got he story or where the recipe is but the worker sells the tea and when ever anyone one asks bout her tea The Old Gold Mines Tea she just waves her hand and says, “You buy?”

Ok so here are the pictures fro the Tea Class.

Moroccan Cooking Workshop

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I did a cooking class that lasted two day’s, we cooked Moroccan food. It was really fun. My friend Sam and I made Strawberry Rhubarb Crostada the first day and Torta Soffice di Mele (a.k.a. Peach Cake.) Yes we called dibs on making the desert both days. Lucky us we were the only girls there.

On Day 1 we made:

Gingered Carrot and Orange Soup (It tasted like orange zest)

Baked Tilapia with Fresh Herbs (A fancy word for fish)

Green Couscous with Pas and Fresh Herbs (Those disgusting grains)

Strawberry Rhubarb Crostada (yummmmmmm)

On Day 2 we made:

White Root Soup with Fruity, Nutty, Chermoula (Ick)

Apricot Chicken (Delish!)

Couscous with Vegetable Tagine (disgusting grains again)

Torta Soffice di Mele (Yummmmmmmmmmmy!!!!)

The only good ones were Strawberry Rhubarb Crostada, Apricot Chicken, and Torta Soffice di Mele. The Peach cake was my favorite. When we were done we had extra peaches so Sam and I ate them it was very messy and very funny.

Well tata for now I will post on the other marvelous things that happened this week after I come back from a tea tasting class. I will have pictures from the Cooking Class later.

p.s. The opera house (where i took the class) has a website: www.hudsonoperahouse.org

p.p.s. Torta Soffice di Mele is the food of the week!!!

Cheats: Video Games or Real Life?

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Here is my response to my moms blog post.

Mooooooom,

Aren’t you over reacting a little bit??? It’s not like I’m gonna get an extra life on new super Mario bros. then go and con some guy into paying me 50 bucks for a glass of lemonade.

It’s just a video game! I use my cheats so I can get farther in the game and See what the last level is like. It’s not like I get paid every time i beat a level, (though it would be nice.)

When I am playing single player It gets a bit boring cheating all the time. I am constantly finding myself restarting a game to play it without cheats. I enjoy the satisfaction I get when I beat a game, that I don’t get when I beat it in 5 minutes due to cheats. It really depends on the cheat. I don’t feel satisfied when I choose beat all levels, but I still feel satisfied when I choose always big Mario.

When I am playing multi-player it’s a different story. I loooove beating other kids butts, with or without cheats. Of course, if I was playing pokemon with a 6 year old I wouldn’t choose 1 hit kill, but if I was battling a friend then I would.

If you always beat people they wont want to battle you anymore. I would play cheats with someone else who has cheats then it would be fair, a battle of the cheats. If I was battling someone without cheats I might cheat the first time, to surprise them but I wouldn’t continue using cheats.

I guess what I’m saying is that cheats are fine and anyone no mater how old will find out that it is no fun to always win. You don’t have to worry about us kids, we know when to stop cheating.

Your game savvy daughter with cheat know how,

Yay! A Meme

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

YAAAAAAAAAAY i absolutely love meme’s!!!! My mom was bugging me to post to day and i was staring at the computer thinking “Nothing happened today so what the heck am I supposed to write about???” Then it comes to me, a meme! I haven’ done a meme in like forever! I am making up this meme so bare with me as i attempt to explain what a meme is for those who are new to the blogging industry.

A meme is when you get a comment on your blog saying “you have been tagged with a meme. Now you have to post your top 5 favorite books and tag 10 more people before January 8th.”<—That’s just an example.

The meme rules:

No tagging people who already have been tagged.

No dirty language.

You must post before the due date.

You must follow the meme.

You must tag the amount of people.

When you tag the person you must link to thins post in the comment or link to your own set of rules (which would make no sense because i have already written them for you.)

You can not change them meme unless its close to the ending date in which you can extend it by one week. But you can always start your own meme.

You must have fun!

OK so here is my meme question. What is your top 3 favorite things about your self? Tag 6 people before august 1.

1. How I can appreciate a good peach pie with out worrying about the fat.

2. What a great rock climber i am.

3. How instead of crying when someone makes me mad i decide that next time i see them i will sock them in the eye (though I’m to kind to do anything but punch them in the stomach.)

Who I have tagged:

http://librarina.wordpress.com/

http://sparklegirl38.blogspot.com/

http://sam-scsblog.blogspot.com/

http://hungariandays.blogspot.com/

http://petard123.blogspot.com/

http://www.onlivingbylearning.com/

OK so there you go enjoy your meme.

Corn Dog Pictures

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

I know , I know, you hate me. You never want to read my blog ever again. And why? Because I didn’t post for a few days. I promised my readers that I would take pictures and videos of me eating corn dogs. I was supposed to post them during corn dog week. I could come up with a thousand excuses of why I didn’t do it, but they are all BS. I am not going to do a food of the week this week since the week already started.

Ok so my mom, dad, brother, grandma,  Ralph who is holding the camera in the pictures, and Joe who was parking the car in the corn dog   video, and of course we went to Coney island to get corn dogs and Italian ice. Every one liked corn dogs except me. Here are some pictures and videos from it.

Superfluous

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Inspired by peter and Sam I have decided to do a word a day, of course I’m not doing it every day.

To day my word of the day is: Superfluous

Definition: extra or redundant.

Synonym: supererogatory

I would like to note that my definition is way more understandable and correct than Sam’s =]
